Needle Huggers

I was sorting through my craft accessories and came across these needle holders that I made some time ago. I kept meaning to upload them, I made a third one which may have been misplaced whilst visiting my mother. It's probably long gone by now.

iPhone Cover

This is the first prototype of a number of phone cases that I want to make. It was worked in moss stitch on dpns. The actual finished product will have my customised label along the strap. I'll also make the top edging wider and work the strap in a garter st. I started the prototype of the next case this afternoon and hopefully I'll be able to finish it over the weekend.

Creamy Chicken and Pasta

I made this for my boys today and they really enjoyed it. I've made similar dishes before (the recipes for which I will post ASAP) and they always seem to like it. This yielded enough for 2-3 toddler portions. I usually make this with macaroni as its easier for the boys to eat but any pasta shape will do.

2-3 chunks breast fillets
Approx 300g pasta
2-3tsp Butter
2 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp flour
Approx 300ml of milk
2 handfuls of grated cheese
Parsley
Salt and pepper

Boil the chicken fillets in salted water.
Also cook the pasta according to pack instructions. When the chicken has cooked through, chop it into bite sized pieces and set aside.

Over a medium heat, melt the butter in a pan and add the garlic, fry for 1 minute.

Add the flour and stir.

Add a little milk and stir until the sauce begins to thicken. Add more milk, reserving some incase it is needed later. Continue to stir until the sauce thickens.

Add the chicken and then season. If the sauce has become to thick add more milk.

Once the desired consistency has been achieved, add the pasta and stir until it is coated in the sauce.

Lower the heat and then add the cheese. Continue to stir until the cheese has melted. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve.

Sock

It's been a while since I've worked on the socks, but as they aren't being made to be worn by anyone I'm not too fussed. I finished the main body and I'm about to move on to the heel flap. Before moving onto this section I'll have to wait until I get time too myself. I really don't want the boys running around me as it will be the first time that I'm doing this and I could do without the distraction. Here's a picture of what I've done so far.

Filet Shawl edge complete

I have completed the edge motif of the shawl and I am very pleased. Now comes the boring part, doing rows and rows of the open mesh before working the central motifs.

Shawl Start

I started the shawl yesterday, I'm on the 7th row and so far so good. I've sort of got a name for the shawl though whether or not I stick with it will depend on how it pans out. I hope to post a picture of the swatch, provided it comes out well enough to see the pattern.

Filet shawl

As well as the bookmarks I've also decided to make a Filet Lace shawl. I've got the design sorted and I have some yarn to start with. It's just starting that's the issue, with three toddlers running around and driving me crazy I only hope I can get everything done in time for the summer.

Bookmarks

I'm currently working on bookmarks to sell online maybe on Etsy or MISI. I have five designs, three knitted and two crocheted. As I've just got an iPhone, it has inspired me to make apple or fruit themed cosies for such devices, but at the moment it's a work in mind.
