K = knit

P = purl

St = stitch

Pattern

Cast on 46 stitches

Row 1-4: K each st to the end

Row 5: K3, P7, *K4, P7 Repeat from * twice more, K last 3 st.

Row 6: K

Row 7-12: Repeat rows 5 & 6

Row 13: Repeat row 5

Row 14: K3, P until last 3 st, K3.

Row 15: K

Row 16: Repeat row 14

Row 17-26: Repeat rows 5 & 6 five more times

Row 27: K

Row 28: Repeat row 14

Row 29: K

Row 30-159: Repeat rows 4-29 five times

Row 160-169: Repeat rows 4-13

Row 171: Repeat row 14

Row 172: K

Cast off, leaving enough yarn to join the ends together
