A Trio of Chocolate Treats
I'm not able to bake at the moment and as usual the tripolatas keep asking if I've made them any treats. I don't like giving them a lot of sweets and chocolates, they generally only get these when grandma visits (because she just can't say 'No' to her grand babies).
As a ONE OFF, I made them a trio of treats, Pretzel Melts, Fruit and Nut Buttons and Jazzies. They were very excited when I opened the containers that I'd hidden the chocolate in. Their favourite by far was the Pretzel Melts, the saltiness of the pretzels enhancing the flavour of the chocolate.
I would definitely recommend any one of these as a simple treat, lunch box filler, or for a party.
These are ridiculously simple to make all you need is...
Candy Melts
Milk or Dark Chocolate
Pretzels
Dried Fruit
Nuts
Seeds
and Sprinkles..
all you need to do is...
For the Pretzel Melts
Place the pretzels on a microwaveable space.
Lay the candy melts on top of the pretzels making sure each pretzel is completely covered.
Microwave for about 40-60 seconds (keep your eyes on them). The candy melts should be slightly melted but still retain their shape.
Cover the candy melts with sprinkles and leave to cool.
You can also pace the pretzels on a baking sheet and bake them at a med-high temperature until the candy begins to melt.
For the Fruit and Nut Buttons
Melt the chocolate in a microwavable container
Using a spoon, dollop the chocolate on greaseproof paper or silicone baking sheet.
Top with dried fruit, nuts and seeds. I used a mix of cranberries, raisins, sultanas, hazelnut, pistachio, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
Leave to set, peel off and enjoy
For the Jazzies
Prepare in the same way as the Fruit and Nut Buttons, cover with the sprinkles
ENJOY
